He was born May 7, 1926 in Huntsville, Ala. the son of Charlie Rouse and Ruth Wigginton Rouse.
He was a retired police chief for the City of Weiner and a former Deputy with the Poinsett County Sheriffs Office. He had also served in the Arkansas National Guard. He was a member of the Church of God at Weiner and enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching softball games.
He married Mary Jeanette Heavener on March 31, 1967 and they enjoyed 26 years together before her death in 1993.
In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Lester Rouse and Marvin Rouse, and one sister, Louise Rost.
He is survived by one son, Robert Rouse, Jr. of Harrisburg; four daughters, Jean Rodgers of Cherry Valley, Linda Rouse of Trumann, Kim Hime of Bay and Dianne Stuart of Weiner; two brothers, Clifford Rouse of Trumann and Herman Rouse of Benton; two sisters, Pauline Timbs of Trumann and Reba Henderson of Trumann; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services were Monday, April 17, 2006, at the Weston Funeral Service Chapel in Harrisburg. Interment with full police honors followed in Weiner Cemetery.
