Mrs. Ruby Mullen, 102, of Trumann, died Sunday July 2, 2006 at Lakeside Nursing Center in Lake City. She was born in Red River County, Texas and had lived most of her lifetime in Trumann. She was a retired factory worker for the former Singer Company and of the protestant faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Mullen in 1937; two sisters, Amy Drew and Allie Whittaker and her parents Alvin and Carrie Doyle Canterbury.

Survivors include five nieces; Barbara Brown of St. Louis, Carolyn Wilson and Sharon Robbins both of Trumann, Ruby Couch of Jonesboro and Ruby Johnson of South Haven, Miss.; three nephews, Donald Drew of Versailles, Mo., Neil Whittaker of Jonesboro and Danny Drew of South Haven, Miss.

Funeral services were Wednesday, July 4 in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann with Rev. Garvin Pulley officiating. Burial followed in the Lawrence Memorial Park Cemetery in Walnut Ridge.

Pallbearers were Brian McElyea, Richard Hayes, Dan Drew, Matt Drew, Kevin Drew and Derek Hayes.
