Dorothy Darlene Son, 70, of Marked Tree died Tuesday, July 18, 2006 at her residence from cancer.

She was born Aug. 1, 1935 in Walnut Ridge. She was a homemaker, member of the Church of God in Marked Tree and a lifelong resident of Marked Tree.

She was preceded in death by her parents Pansy Melton and Lee R. Smith.

She is survived by four daughters, Barbara J. Tacker of Trumann, Judy Hardin and Donna F. Stephens, both of Marked Tree, and Rebecca Gamber of Meridian, Miss.; two sons, Robert E. Stephens of Decoma, Wash. and Billy R. Stephens of Caraway; one step-son, Donald Ray Son of Batesville; two sisters, Dathine Jones of Tyronza and Murline Wesson of Harrisburg; one brother, Doris Lee Smith of Marked Tree; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Thursday, July 20 at the Church of God in Marked Tree with Bro. Patrick Tucker officiating. Burial followed at Tyronza Cemetery.
