He was born Dec. 25, 1927 in Tupolo, Miss. to Emmitt and Alma Fox McDaniel. He was married to Elcie Goff for 30 years.
He was a welder at Hyster and then owned Phillips 66 service stations in Peoria. He drove his motor home to Florida where he spend the winters, he was an avid fisherman and camper. He was a host at the campground in Okeechobee Lake in Florida.
He is survived by one son, Larry (Marti) McDaniel of Peoria; three daughters, Rhonda McDaniel of Peoria and her fiancé, Ron Fletcher, Vickie Collier of Yates City and Vivian Lauriano of Bartonville; nine grandchildren, Lori, Shane, Matthew, Joe, Jim Amber, Dale, Tiffany and Amanda; six great-grandchildren and two sisters, LaVada McMunn of Kansas City, Mo. and Kathryn Gann of Independence, Mos.
Funeral Services were Friday, Aug. 4 at Wright and Salmon Mortuary with Rev. Charles Karl officiating. Burial followed in Swan Lake Memory Gardens. Memorials can be made to the American Diabetes Association.
