Viva Christine Long

Viva Christine Long died August 27, 2006 at NEA Medical Center.

Formerly of Harrisburg, she was born in Trumann and had lived in Trumann for the past 12 years She was a housewife and a member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Trumann. A devoted wife and mother, she opened her home to many ministers that were holding revials in local churches. She loved people and loved to cook and provide a place for the ministers to stay. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Talmadge C. Long, Sr. and a son, Terry Joe Long.

Survivors include a son, Talmadge Long, Jr. of Trumann; a daughter, Barbara Vinson and son-in-law Jerry Vinson of Trumann; two sisters, Virginia Lee Roberts and Myrtle Davies of Elkhart, Ind.; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral service were Wednesday afternoon in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann with Rev. Arville Tribble and Rev. Larry Tribble officiating. Burial followed in the Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Donnie Prince, Jerry Murphy, Larry Cossey, Eldon Gartman, Jimmy Everhart and Russell Page.

Honorary pallbearers were Brent and Kim Long, Jason and Coleen Lamb, Lynn Vinson, Kevin and Sylvia Long, Chris Long and Scott Long.
