Fred Barker, 59, of Trumann, died Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2006 at the family residence.

He was born in Harrisburg and had lived in Trumann for the past 35 years. He was a self employed carpet installer, veteran of the U.S. Marines and Vietnam War and of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, two brothers and was the son of the late Jim Henry and Anna Hughes Barker.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Powers Barker of the home; four sons, Mitch York of Reyno and Kenny York, Randy York and Danny York, all of Trumann; a daughter, Sharon Morgan of Oxford and 14 grandchildren.

Graveside services were Friday, Sept. 1 at Holly Springs Cemetery with Bro. Jason Goad officiating. Burial followed under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Matt York, Adam York, Tony Blackwood, Tony Coke, David Williams and Stan Walker.
