Gary Wayne Hicks

Gary Wayne Hicks, 55, of Harrisburg, died Sunday, Sept. 3, 2006 at Woodbriar Nursing Center in Harrisburg from injuries received in an automobile accident in February of this year.

He was born in Weona community near Trumann and had lived most of his lifetime in the Harrisburg and Trumann area. He was a machine specialist for American Greeting in Osceola and of the Pentecostal faith.

Hicks was preceded in death by two sisters, Shirley Ann Hicks and Linda Gail Holmes and was the son of the late Luther and Naoma Mae McElyea Hicks.

Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Julie Ballard Hicks of the home; two daughters, Diana Lindsey of Harrisburg and Kellie Hicks of Tupelo, Miss.; one sister, Jolene Perryman of Simmesport, La.; one brother, Charles Hicks of Trumann; three grandchildren, Garrett, Tiffanie and Jacob and one great-granddaughter, Kiyana.

Funeral services were Wednesday, Sept. 6 at the Calvary Pentecostal Church in Trumann, with Rev. Rickey Forbis and Rev. Gene Loven officiating. Burial followed in Marked Tree Cemetery with Thompson Funeral Home of Trumann in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Charley Byrd, Blaine Hitt, Clay Jones, Joey Lindsey, Paul Lindsey and Chad Wilcox.
