Claude Carl Sanders

Claude Carl Sanders, 67, of Harrisburg died Sunday, Sept. 3, 2006 at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.

A native of Harrisburg, he was born on Aug. 21, 1939, the son of James Claude Sanders and Lucy Ellen Wadlington Sanders. He was a retired farmer, having worked for several Harrisburg area farms. He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing with his grandchildren. He will be remembered for his love of family and music. Wherever he was he usually had a guitar or harmonica and people were laughing, singing and enjoying themselves.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Tony Carl Sanders; three brothers, Claude James Sanders, Kenneth Wayne Sanders and Herbert Wayne Sanders and three sisters, Charlestine Woolbright, Maxine Woolbright and Effie McDaniel.

He is survived by his wife of three years, Lynette Marie Sanders of the home; eight children, George Wayne Sanders and his wife Tracy of Trumann, Karla Odell Hazelwood and her husband Wesley of Jonesboro, Sandra Claudette Sanders and John Smith of Jonesboro, June Carli Sanders Jones of Jonesboro and Susie Sanders of Jonesboro; three step-children, Chuck and Pamela Toland of Fresno, Calif., and Rick Davenport of Oahu, Hawaii; seven brothers and sisters, Claudine and John Sangre of Palm Dale, Calif., Wanda Sanders Vance and Wayne Vance of Paris, Tenn., Carolyn Sanders of Jonesboro and Phyllis and Kenneth Dugan of Jonesboro; 12 grandchildren, Samantha Sullivan, Shaun O'Guinn, Steven Erb, Jacky Guffey, Jr., Ricky Stevens, Ashley Sanders, Shea Sanders, Casandra Sanders, Carmen Sanders, Dustin Sanders, T.C. Sanders and Tyler Jones; one step-grandson, Evan Toland; three great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and his father in law, Clyde Alonso of Jan Juan Capistrano, Calif.

Funeral services were Wednesday, Sept. 6 at the Weston Funeral Service Chapel in Harrisburg. Interment followed in Willis Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Michael Sanders, Tim Lockwood, Josh Bingham, Ronnie Wadlington, Derrick Guajardo, Greg Totty, Wayne Boyd and Thomas Lee Rasden.
