She was born in Jonesboro on Nov. 6, 1922, the daughter of the late Johnny Owen "J.O." and Ruby Wilson McDaniel. She had lived most of her lifetime in Trumann before moving to Harrisburg 10 years ago. She was a hairdresser and of the protestant faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harding McMahan; one sister, Francis McCoy; two brothers, Spencer McDaniel and Gordon McDaniel and her parents.
Survivors include two daughters, Connie Jean LaSuer of Harrisburg and Carla Jo Whitlatch of Jonesboro; three brothers, Chester McDaniel of Watervilet, Mich., and James Paul McDaniel and Dale McDaniel, both of Trumann; four grandchildren, Cindy Blair, Chad LaSuer, Jody Whitlatch and Jeff Whitlatch and 10 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Wednesday, Oct. 25 at the Holly Springs Cemetery near Harrisburg with Rev. Kenny Guy McMahan officiating. Burial was under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home of Trumann.
