Melba Dean Elliott, 79, of Madison died Friday, Nov. 9, 2006 at the Forrest City Medical Center in Forrest City.

She was born Sept. 9, 1927 in Oklahoma City, Okla. and was the daughter of Claude Henderson and Ola Parris Henderson. She lived in St. Francis County most all of her life and was a housewife. She was preceded in death by one son, John E. Elliott.

She married George Elliott, Sr., in 1951 and he survives her along with eight sons, George Elliott, Jr., of Newbern, N.C., Dude J. Elliot, Jack Elliott, Curtis Elliot, all of Jonesboro, Timothy Elliott and Wayne Elliott, both of Trumann, Harold Elliott of Harrisburg and Michael "Mack" Elliott of Marianna; one daughter, Mary Ann Townsend of Madison; two sisters, Freda Kelch of Blytheville and Gerladine Cloringer of Marianna; 27 grandchildren and 27 great0grandchildren.

Funeral services were Sunday, Nov. 12 at the Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Hughes Cemetery.
