He was born in Dyess on Sunday, August 8, 1948, son of the late Purvis and Ruby Boswell Carr, and had lived most of his lifetime in Trumann. He was a merchant and a member of the First Christian Church.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Carr and his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Sarah Steele Carr of the home; two daughters, Tracy Dean of El Dorado and Dana Lands of Harrisburg; two sons, Mickey Roby of Denton, Tex. and Alan Roby of Marion; two granddaughters and three grandsons.
Funeral services were Sunday, Nov. 26 in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann, with Rev. Leonard Harp officiating. Burial followed in the Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery in Jonesboro.
Pallbearers were Ronnie Harrison, Johnny Robinson, Donnie Taylor, Earnie Link, Michael Blagg and Randy Blagg. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Floyd Smith, Jim Wallace, Bud Deiss and the Trumann Fire Department.
