Melody J. (Mel) Young Beach, 68, of Trumann died Wednesday, Jan.24, 2007 at St. Bernard's Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Born on March 29, 1938 in Mississippi to Frank and Ruby King Young, she had lived in Carson California before moving to Trumann four years ago. She was a Management Specialist for the Northrop Grumman Corp. in California; a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a member of the Eastside Baptist Church in Trumann.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Billy Wayne Young and Charles Young and her parents.

She is survived by one sister, Ann Mitchell of Trumann; one brother, Harold Young of Milwaukee, Wis. and several nephews and nieces.

Memorial services were Saturday, Jan. 27 in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann with Rev. Kenny Guy McMahan officiating. Burial was private under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home of Trumann.
