Sanford (Sam) Leon Hinkle, son of the late Emmett and Dollie (Cato) Hinkle, passed away Friday, April 6, 2007 at the age of 79.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Eddie Hinkle; and brother, Laymon Hinkle.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Hinkle of the home; three daughters, Sandra Ragle and Barbara Barnes, both of Sulpher Rock and Rhonda Dean of Pocahontas; two stepsons, Terry Miller of Monette and Scott Miller of Searcy; one stepdaughter, Vicky Miller of Trumann; six sisters, Lois Darling, Marilyn Tyler and Louise Wicker, all of Pocahontas, Lawana Dewitt of Anchorage, Alaska, Jeannie Eagan of Little Rock and Delnora Jones of Hardy; seven grandchildren; two step grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Services were Monday, April 9 in the Chapel of McNabb Funeral Home with Terry Miller officiating. Military honors were performed by Promberger-Traw Post 4556.

Burial followed in New Home Cemetery at Gatewood, Mo.

Pallbearers were Sam Ragle, Aaron Ragle, Adam Ragle, Caleb Dean, Noah Dean and T.J. Miller.
