Born in Greenville, Texas on Saturday, February 23, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Odell Abney. She had lived in Cabot for the past six years and was formerly of Hamilton, Texas She was a nurse caregiver sitting with the sick and elderly and of the Baptist faith.
Adams was preceded in death by one son, Bobby Joe Bice; five sisters; six brothers and her parents.
Survivors include her husband, Corbet A. Adams, Jr.; one daughter, Shirley Moerbe of Vernon, Texas; one stepson, Corbet A. Adams, III, of Memphis, Tenn.; four stepdaughters, Sandra Adams of Cabot, Pat Rietveld and Donna Van Huis both of Holland, Mich., and Deborah Whitaker of Paragould; one brother, Gail Abney of Lubbock, Texas, and one sister, Betty Khos of Saganow, Minn.; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; six step-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Monday, April 16 in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann, with Dr. Tad Rogers officiating. Burial followed in the Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery in Jonesboro.
Pallbearers were M.J. Moerbe, Sandra Adams, Corbet Adams III, Bobby Moore, Shane Moore and Rodney Davis.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Arkansas Hospice.
