He was born Jan. 12, 1919, in Tennessee, the son of Corbett A. Adams and Ola Jane Cooper Adams.
He was a farmer and of the Methodist faith. He married Vada Marie Forbis on Dec. 19, 1937, and they enjoyed 62 years before her death in 1999. He attended Lebanon Baptist Church in Whitehall and was a member of the Trumann Masonic Lodge for 60 years. His passion was duck hunting.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one daughter, Beatrice Marie Adams; two brothers, Austin Adams and David Adams and one sister, Annie May Adams.
He is survived by one son, Tommy Adams Jr. and wife Joyce of Harrisburg; one daughter, Shirley Parker and husband Cecil of Harrisburg; two brothers, Corbett A. Adams Jr. of Cabot and Donald M. Adams of Humboldt, Tenn.; one sister, Lucille Puryear; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Tuesday, June 19 in Weston Funeral Service Chapel at Harrisburg. Interment followed in Harrisburg Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Vernon Forbis, Denver Forbis, Paul Harris, Mike Casebier, Daniel Casebier and Wayne Rains. Honorary pallbearers included the men of Lebanon Baptist Church.
