James Goucher

Mr. James Theodore "Ted" Goucher 79, of Harrisburg died Saturday, July 7, 2007 at the Arkansas Methodist Hospital in Paragould. He was born in Poinsett County and had lived in Harrisburg for the past 15 years and had formerly lived in the state of Washington. Goucher was a loving and generous person. He loved unconditionally and didn't question your motives if you failed his trust. He was a retired staff sergeant for the U.S. Army and of the Protestant faith.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Gloria Rios Goucher; four brothers, Albert, J.B., Reuben and Virgil Goucher, his step-son, Rick Rios Goucher, two sisters, Mary Harris and Beulah Jarowski and his parents, Oscar H. and Martha L. Farris Goucher.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Goucher of the home; two step-daughters, Celeste Rios and husband Mark of Canton, Ohio, Pamela Winchester of Kenneth, Mo.; one step-son, Mike Rios Goucher of Tacoma, Wash.; one sister, Inez and husband Gene Parrish of Trail Creek, Ind.; two brothers, Nelson Goucher and wife, Merle, of Trumann and John Goucher and wife, Helen, of Round Rock, Tex.; five grandchildren, Tyler and Chantell Winchester, Carolynn and Jessica Harding, and Jennifer and two great-grandchildren, Lauren and Cole.

Funeral services were Tuesday July 10 in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann with Rev. Julian Allen officiating. Burial followed in the Old Harrisburg Cemetery.
