Charles E. Parks

Charles E. Parks, 89 of Trumann died Monday, July 23, 2007 at Trumann Health and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born in Harrisburg on May 9, 1918, and had lived in Trumann for the past 40 years. He was retired from the Singer Company and a member of the First Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Kate Lindsey Parks and his second wife, Lucille "Morgan" Parks; two sons, Eddie Ray Parks and Willie Carol Parks and his parents, Tice Parks and Willie Jackson.

Mr. Parks is survived by a son, Charlie Parks of Trumann; four daughters, Norma Cobb of Harrisburg, Carolyn Whitman and Sharon Robinson both of Trumann and Brenda Williams of Marion; one sister, Lois Moulder of Harrisburg; three brothers, Louis Parks of Stanton Tenn., Lloyd "Bud" Parks and Eugene "Gene" Parks both of Jonesboro; 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Thursday, July 26 in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann with Dr. Tad Rogers officiating. Burial followed in the Shiloh Cemetery near Harrisburg.

Pallbearers were Bryan Parks, Regan Parks, Mark Cobb, Anthony Brewington, Todd Williams, Andy Lacy, Chad Furnish and Allen Hampton.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, Hwy 69 in Trumann.
