Marvin Lee Pippinger

Marvin Lee Pippinger, 83 of Trumann, died Thursday at St. Bernard's Medical Center in Jonesboro.

He was born in Harrisburg and had lived most of his lifetime in the Trumann area. He was a former employee of the McCormick Gin, Singer Company, City of Trumann and Trumann Schools. He lived a long life and will be missed dearly by the people who got a chance to know him.

He was preceded in death by a son, Donald Ray "Don" Pippinger; one grandson, Richard Lee Pippinger; one brother, Bobby Pippinger and his parents, Harry Lee and Alma Hunt Pippinger.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Opal Dobbins Pippinger of the home; three daughters, Connie Sue and Gerald Anderson of Caraway, Patsy Ruth and Joe Vickers and Darlene and Freddie McKinney both of Trumann; one son, Jerry Lee and Myra Pippinger of Star City; three sisters, Willie Jo McGirr, Anne Peo and Lucille and LeRoy Dobbins all of Trumann; a brother, Danny and Donna Pippinger of Trumann; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Sunday, Aug. 12 at the Eastside Baptist Church in Trumann, with Rev. Kenny Guy McMahan and Rev. J.E. Crawford officiating. Burial followed in the Jonesboro Memorial Park.

Pallbearers were Jeremy Pippinger, Robert Pippinger, Doty Reed, Chris Keaton, Phillip Clark and James Roberts.

Honorary pallbearers were Chris Hancock, Billy Brooks, Gene Benson, Leo Lancaster, Eldon Gartman, Curtis Green, Bobby Brooks, Jonathan Skaggs and Ted Horton.
