Lela Belle Thomas, 93, died Oct. 30, 2007.

She was born in Trumann, to Luther and Maude Gunter Stephens. She has lived in Jonesboro most of her life. She was employed at Frolic Footwear for a number of years, was a homemaker and loved gardening. She was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer E. Thomas; sisters, Lessie Byard, Bessie Lindley, Geneva Foster, Nadine Clark, Maggie Kagen and Marie Jones.

She is survived by her sisters, Willis Clark of Westland, Mich. and Delores Garner of Jonesboro; a brother, Luther O. Stephens Jr. of Clio, Mich. and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held on Friday, Nov. 2, 2007 at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home Chapel with Lewis Gentry officiating. Burial followed at Philadelphia Cemetery.

Pallbearers were her great nephews, Danny Willey, Aaron Yearta, Jesse Willey, Dewayne Lumpkin, Philip Yearta and Billy Clark.
