He had lived most of his lifetime in the Trumann area. He was a retired farmer, President of the Trumann Rural Water Association, Purple Heart veteran of the U. S. Army and Korean War, member of the American Legion Post 42 and a member of the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church near Trumann.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Ann " Bobbie" Medley in 2003; one sister, Mary Marlene Simmons and his parents.
He is survived by two daughters, Pamela R. "Pam" Dahlquist of San Antonio, Tex. and Tammy Collier of Lake City; four grandchildren, Katie Collier, John, Jacob and Tyler Dahlquist; one sister, Glenda Jenkins of Lake Okeechobee. Fla. and one brother, David Medley of Columbia, SC.
Funeral services were Monday morning, Nov. 19 in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann with Rev. Gerald Vickers officiating. Burial followed in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery in Jonesboro under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Mike Crowe, Jim Mincy, Donald Pratt, Jeff Walker, Stanley Walker and Ryan Walker. Honorary pallbearers were the Trumann Rural Water Association Board.
