He was a lifetime resident of Trumann, retired employee of the Singer Company and Delta Wood Products in Trumann; veteran of U. S. Army and Word War II and of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Wells was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Coveda Wells in 1997; one great-granddaughter; two great-grandsons; one sister; two brothers and his parents.
Survivors include one daughter, Brenda May and husband, Gary, of Trumann; one son, Raymond Wells and wife, Diane, of Trumann; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Beard, John (Greg) May, Becky May, Dana Tinker, Christy Baker and Skylar Wells all of Trumann and Kelly Swinney of Rison and eight great-grandchildren, Hunter and Kaylee May, Morgan and Ethan Baker, Emily and Natalie Tinker and Madelyn and Anna Swinney.
Funeral services were Tuesday morning in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Maxwell and Rev. Larry Loggins officiating. Burial followed in the Pine Hill Cemetery in Jonesboro.
Pallbearers were Ryan Baker, Jennifer Beard, Greg May, Tommy Morris, Bryan Swinney and Berry Tinker.
