Minnie Joyce Claytor

Minnie Joyce Claytor, 68, was born June 7,1939 in Dallas, Tex. and departed this life on Jan. 9, 2008 in Harrison. She was preceded in death by her parents, Utah Carl Lamb and Callie Elizabeth Kilgore Lamb; a brother, Utah Carl Lamb, Jr.; a sister, Wanda Charlene Iverson and a grandson, Lee'O Tilton Housden III.

Minnie was raised at Cumberland Presbyterian Children's Home in Denton, Tex., with an extended family of 40 brothers and sisters. In recent years she found a long lost brother, Paul Crowley of Dallas, Texas, who had been placed for adoption as an infant.

She spent her early years farming and raising her family. She was a retired cosmetology instructor and beauty salon owner and a former correspondent for the Newton County Times.

She is survived by her children, Lela Joyce Minor of Trumann, Lee'O Tilton Housden, Jr. of Low Gap, Martha Marie Armor of Denton, Texas, and James Dan'l Housden and wife, Shana of Aubrey, Texas. She was the proud grandmother of 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Saturday, Jan. 12, at Low Gap Full Gospel Church in Low Gap, with the Reverend Donnie Villines officiating. Burial was at Low Gap Cemetery.
