Peggy Jean Raymond Owens, 66, of Trumann, died Monday, Jan. 14, 2008 at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro.

She was born on May 26, 1941 and had lived in Trumann for the past 61 years. She was a homemaker and a member of the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.

Mrs. Owens was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley "Butch" Owens; one son, Billy Jean Owens; one brother, Walter "Keith Raymond and her parents, Bennett Paul Raymond, Sr. and Lettie May Bufford Raymond.

She is survived by four daughters, Becky Newell, Kerri Smith and Tina Smith all of Trumann and Lisa Drake of Bradley; one son, Scotty Dobbins of Trumann; one sister, Sandra Thomas of Trumann; two brothers, Charles Ripley Duboise and Bennett Paul Raymond Jr., both of Trumann; 23 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services were Thursday, Jan. 17 in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann, with Dr. Tad Rogers officiating. Burial followed in the Pine Hill Cemetery in Jonesboro.

Pallbearers were Steven Henry, Eric Smith, Billy Thomas, Jason Thomas, Greg Whitlock, Darrel Turner, Bill King and Bill Craft.

Honorary pallbearer was Jeff Sebesta.
