He was born in Humboldt, Tenn., and had lived most of his lifetime in Poinsett County. He was a retired employee of the General Electric Company, veteran of the U.S. Army and World War II and a member of the Harrisburg V.F.W.
Mr. Qualls was preceded in death by four sisters, Etta Elizabeth Qualls Holmes, Mary Sue Qualls, Stella L. Qualls and Geraldine Qualls; three brothers, John Frank Qualls, Virl Qualls and Oliver Qualls and his parents.
Survivors include his beloved friend, Martha Cobb of Fisher; five sisters, Elouise Wilson and Patsy Stalnaker of Harrisburg, Earnestine Lowery of Montrose, Mich., Maxine Wilson of St. Louis, Mo., and Carolyn Davis of Vicksburg, Miss.; two brothers, Thomas Qualls of Harrisburg and Arthur Qualls of Batesville, Miss., and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Saturday, Jan. 26 in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann with Rev. Kenny Guy McMahan officiating. Burial followed in Pine Log Cemetery in Brookland.
Pallbearers were Victor Roberts, Jim Qualls, Frank Qualls, Jr., Ronnie Holmes, Glen Holmes and Dan Holmes.
