He was born on Friday, August 6, 1915, son of the late Willie Stanford and Mary Elizabeth Sims Parrish in Damascus, Ark. He had lived in Jonesboro for the past five months and was formerly of Trumann. He was a retired factory worker and of the Assembly of God faith.
Mr. Parrish was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha I. Parrish in 2006; one daughter, Marcella Despard; three sons, David Charles, Eugene and Bobby Parrish; four brothers and his parents.
Survivors include three daughters, Brenda Kennedy of Jonesboro, Angela Hervey of Springdale and Rhonda Davis of Russellville; two sons, Bill Parrish and James Parrish both of Mountain Home; two sisters, Evelyn Akes of Marmaduke and Clara Hall of Jonesboro; 23 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and four great-great-great-grandchildren
Funeral services were Saturday, Feb. 2 in the Thompson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Terry Miller officiating. Burial followed in the Macey Cemetery near Monette.
Pallbearers were Dustin Davis, Daniel Davis, Charles Parrish, Dale Cooper, Billy Joe Taylor and Ted Huffins.
