Wayne Cates, 82, of Trumann died Thursday, March 6, 2008 at Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro.

He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Trumann. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers and one sister.

He is survived by his wife, Louise Cates of the home; two sons, Jimmy Archer of Rockford, Ill. and David Archer of Caraway; five grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Monday, March 10 at Murphy Funeral Home in Lepanto, Rev. Tad Rogers officiated. Burial followed in Potter Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Murphy Funeral Home.
