Leo J. George

Mr. Leo J. George, 88, of Trumann, died Sunday, March 30, 2008 at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro. He was born in Athens, Ala., and had lived in Trumann since 1994 and was formerly of Glenview, Ill. He was a retired inspector for Roseman Mfg. Company, veteran of the U.S. Army and World War II and of the Baptist faith.

Mr. George was preceded in death by his first wife, Cassie George; one granddaughter; one brother, Otis George; one sister, Leona White and his parents, Luther and Molly Moody George.

He is survived by his wife, Lillian Stotts George of the home; one daughter, Sue George of Woodstock, Ill.; one step-daughter, Janice Mitchusson of Trumann; two step-sons, Paul Stotts and Mike Stotts both of Trumann; one brother, Hollice and Louise George of Trumann; his sister-in-law, Opal George of Jonesboro; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four step grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were Tuesday, April 1 in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann with Rev. Ersheal Hicks, Rev. Bobby Floyd and Rev. Terry Wayne George officiating. Burial followed in the Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery in Jonesboro.

Pallbearers were Terry George, Chris George, Jon Stotts, Jay Stewmon, J.W. Roden and Gordon Lafarlett.

Honorary pallbearers were Herman Robertson, Bill Evans, Jim Lafarlett, Bob Hervey, Raymond Erby and Milton Cooper.
