Charles K. Childs

Charles K. Childs, 83, of Trumann passed away Thursday, May 1, 2008 at St. Bernard's Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Childs was born in Pocahontas and was a lifelong resident of Trumann. He was a graduate of Trumann High School and Arkansas State College. Childs was a retired teacher, farmer, small business entrepreneur and member of the First Baptist Church. He will be remembered as a Christian, loving husband, father and friend to both elevated and humble members of God's family. Many will recall his reverence for nature and insightful appreciation of divine handiwork.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Stella Ruth Kemp Childs.

Survivors include his wife, Sue Childs of the home; one daughter, Lundie, and son-in-law Dr. Jerry Biggerstaff of Jonesboro; two sons, Dr. Kemp Childs and daughter-in-law Dana of Jonesboro and Harry Jon Childs of Jonesboro; one granddaughter, Leigh Meredith Childs of Monette.

Funeral services were Sunday, May 4, 2008 at First Baptist Church with Dr. Tad Rogers officiating Burial followed at the Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery in Jonesboro.

Pallbearers were Dr. Mark Brown, Brandon Davison, Ronnie Dye Jerry Hollihan, Hal Hyneman, Matt Moon, David Renshaw, and Jay Roberts.
