He was born the son of Clyde Homer Hayse and Grace Louise "Adams" Hayse June 15, 1932 in Lepanto. Jake lived in and around the Marked Tree area for all of his adult life and most of his childhood. He married the love of his life Mary Mildred Carter on Aug, 11th 1961 at Neiswander Baptist Church of Marked Tree.
Jake was of the Baptist faith, a Mason for more than 40 years and a loyal factory worker of Hauserman (DO-3) of Marked Tree for 34 Years.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years Mary Mildred Hayse of the family home at Marked Tree; four daughters Pennie Stephens and husband Bobby of Wilson, Brenda Davis and husband Daryl of Harrisburg, Angie Pagan and husband Marvin of Trumann and Jaylene Tacker and husband Chris of Whitton; 11 grandchildren: Ashley Smith, Blake Stephens, John Stephens, Jessie Stephens, Avery Stephens, Shawn Cody Davis, Tiffney Glover, Heather Pagan, Justin Tacker, Lyssa Tacker and Cecilia Tacker; 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, Ted Hayse and his wife Doreen of Marked Tree; two sisters Glenda Jones and husband Reginald of Tyronza and Jackie Cochran and husband Greg of Marked Tree; and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Clyde and Grace Hayse; two brothers John (Olan Victor) Hayse and Michael Anthony Hayse; and one sister Susie (Carolyn) Hayse.
Visitation was held Friday, June 20 at the Wilson Funeral Home at Tyronza.
Services were held Saturday, June 21 at the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel in Tyronza with interment in Potters Cemetery in Lepanto.
The Reverend Patrick Tucker, of the Church of God located in Marked Tree, officiated the services.
Pallbearers were grandsons Shawn Cody Davis, Blake "Bubba" Stephens and Justin Tacker and nephews Rodney Hayse, Adam Horton and Reginald Jr. "Skip" Jones.
