Members of the Trumann Lions Club heard a presentation recently on the Bank of Trumann's new online banking service. Bank loan officer Zac Inboden gave the local club an overview of the new service.

"When we were designing our online service, we had two main goals," Inboden said. "We wanted to make the service simple and we wanted to make the site secure. I believe we succeeded at both."

The new service is now available for local bank customers. The site offers several security features for the customers account.

"Online banking is currently available and free," Inboden said. "Anyone with any type of account can sign up."

Customers can use the site for many bank transactions. Money can be moved from one account into another. Customers can also see their account balance and deposits in real time.

Customers can view current statements, pull up their last statement or view transactions. For those customers interested in record keeping, 12 months worth of account statements can be printed off. Customers can also view their loan information online.

The online site also allows customers to pay bills online, Inboden said.

"Our service will offer electronic payments where available or a check will be cut and mailed in an envelope," he said.

Inboden says the bill paying service will take about five days for the check to arrive at its destination.

"Customers need to remember to allow those five days for the bill to be paid," he said.

Online bill payment is available at the cost of $3.99 per month.

The online service has been well received by Trumann customers, Inboden said.

"We currently have over 200 customers using the service and we didn't begin signing up customers until March 25," he said.

The Bank of Trumann web site has had over 7,000 home page hits. The site has been up since December of 2007.

Bank customers can sign up for internet banking in person, only, at the Bank of Trumann.

It's about time! That is why I left the Bank of Trumann. No internet banking.
