Those who read my column will remember me writing about Leah having a bead removed from her left ear and then on the follow up visit to the doctor asking me what I thought the doctor would find in there that time.
On Monday, she had her tonsils and adenoids removed. They were removing the built up earwax from her ear and guess what? That's right, there was something else in there. The doctor found a rubber band balled up way down in her ear canal!! I was shocked.
I couldn't believe she had had a rubber band and metal bead in her ear. It is amazing what kids will do and where they will stick stuff.
Campbell had his tonsils, adenoids, and a cyst removed and tubes put in his ears last Monday.
Both kids are doing great. I couldn't believe how resilient they are and up playing the day of their surgeries. I stocked up on pop cycles and cold foods, but Campbell wanted cheese and Leah wanted waffles.
Oh and of course we have the whole discussion of what not to put into our ears. I don't think I can handle finding anything else shoved in there.
I also want to mention some awesome inventions and items available that those who don't have children may not know about:
- Adjustable button waist bands on the inside of children's pants.
- Spill proof bubbles.
-Stopper free spill proof sippie cups.
-Little Swimmers
-Single servings of macaroni and cheese.
-Squeaky shoes. They squeak with every of Campbell's little steps and he loves them. Plus he is easy to keep up with.
