Dallas Collins

Dallas Collins, 69, of Trumann, died on Monday, July 21 in Memphis. He was born October 29, 1938 in Black Rock, the son of Elmer Collins and Florence Nice Collins.

He was a lifetime resident of Poinsett County and retired from Hytrol in 2001 after 25 years of service. He was a member of the New Vision Worship Center in Harrisburg and loved to fish and hunt.

Collins was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Florence Collins and one brother, Jerry Collins.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Naomi Brown Collins of the home; one daughter, Michelle Welch of Blytheville; two brothers, Roy Lee Collins and Carlton Collins, both of Trumann; five sisters, Ruth Cross of Brinkley, Helen Lee of Wheatley, Loretta Mooningham, Wilma Fleming, Janet Spray, all of Trumann; four grandchildren, Anthony Runyan and Amber Runyan, both of Blytheville, Brionna Crume and Cory Crum, both of Trumann; one niece, 10 nephews, five great nieces and five great nephews.

Funeral services were 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 24 at the Weston Funeral Service Chapel in Harrisburg with Rev. Greg Hoskins officiating. Interment followed at Holly Springs Cemetery.

The pallbearers were Lloyd Brown, Larry Brown, Archie Brown, Paul Brown, Gerald Brown, and Coy Lancaster. The honorary pallbearers were Ollie Reeves, Larry Austin Billy Gann, Robert Smith, Scottie Spence and Rick McKenzie.
