Kelley Richard Sims

Kelley Richard Sims, 45, of Jonesboro, died Saturday, Aug. 23, 2008. He lived most of his life in Jonesboro and was a member of Southwest Church of Christ and attended Central Baptist Church. Sims was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity and a member of the Jonesboro Regional Chamber of Commerce. He was a coach for the Arkansas Sidewinders and a referee for high school football. He worked as a financial advisor for Wachovia Investments and was a proud member of the ASU Indian Club.

Kelley was preceded in death by his grandfather, W. Ervin Sims; Grandmother, M. Pauline Sims; and a step-grandmother, Rachel Sims.

Surviving is his wife of twenty-three years, Misti Hinds Sims, originally from Trumann; daughters Mackenzie Dey Sims and Bailee Mekelle Sims, both of the home; parents, Jerry and Maralyn Sims, Jonesboro; sisters, Karrie Sims Evans, Collierville, Tenn.; and Kimberly Dawn Sims, Little Rock, and Uncle Bill Sims, Jonesboro.

Funeral services were August 27, at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Brothers Archie Mason, Tad Rogers, and Dr. Bruce Tippit officiating with burial at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery . Emerson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Bill Sims, Jeff Brecklein, Sid Banks, Rusty Roebuck, David Kerley, Dr. Ken Tonymon, Jeff West, Kevin Hodges, and Joe Evans. Honorary pallbearers are John Gay, Tim Fitzgerald, Pete Murphy, Jeff Green, Andy Peeler, Joe Clay Young, Lamar Spainhouer, Bill Harris, Scott Durham, Mark Row, and Adam Brown.
